MIDNIGHT PICTURES

Midnight Pictures is an independent production company based in Portadown which produces horror and science-fiction films using local actors, writers and locations. It has made five films in the past ten years and is currently beginning production on a sixth, 'Don't Look In The Attic', based on Ray Bradbury's short story 'The Trapdoor'. As with all Midnight Pictures films this will feature:

                                         -       NO love-across-the-barricades
                                         -       NO terrorists with a heart of gold
                                         -       NO conflicted priests and/or policemen
                                         -       NO soundtrack by The Cranberries
                                                  etc.

Consequently, as usual, it will receive NO funding from the Arts Council or the Northern Ireland Film and Television Commission, who only ever give money to their mates from Queens in any case.

Midnight Pictures has received several international festival awards for previous films and secured a specialist distribution deal in the United States for its last film, 'Saul's Pupils'. Its films are stocked in video shops in Portadown and shown at the local Rugby Club, where the 'premiers' are always a big event. This is a remarkable achievement for a team of enthusiasts based in a town with no cinema.

Midnight Pictures relies on sponsorship from local businesses and individuals.
The Portadown News is delighted to be one of those sponsors and would be even more delighted if a few readers cared to join it.

If you'd like to support a locally-produced film that will actually be watched and enjoyed, please e-mail Andrew Harrison for details. Any help, however small, will be gratefully recieved.
